As a pre-writing activity, I want you to consider one of the themes discussed in our analysis of Pride and Prejudice; and construct a brief introduction to your personal narrative by discussing a time in your life when you experienced or witnessed events that are similar to the chosen theme. You will have 8 minutes to write and post your brief narrative on the class blog. Spend the next 5 minutes adding a comment to your partner's blog.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Select one of the themes from Pride and Prejudice as the focus of your personal narrative.
2. Freewrite for 8 minutes. Use the selected theme as a prompt for your writing.
-Write 2-3 paragraphs
-Use the blog as your medium
-Take a look at the sample blog
3. To publish to the blog:
- Click on "New Post" in the upper right had corner.
- A template for creating your post will open.
-In the "Title" section type your first and last name.
-Use whatever font or colors that you like
- Check your spelling when finished
- Click "PUBLISH POST" to attach your work to the blog.
4. Find your partner's blog and add a comment:
- Click on the word "Comment" (It is positioned right below the blog with the image of a pencil next to it)
- A template for creating the post will open.
- Type your comment and include the following:
1. Whether or not the writer effectively integrates a theme from the novel into a real world experience? (Identify the theme)
2. Include suggestions about areas the writer should further explore when developing the essay.
- Click "PUBLISH YOUR COMMENT" when you are finished.
